Shirley & Diann's Reclaimed Wood Eat In Kitchen Island
It all started when...
This eat-in Kitchen island is the perfect solution to any space that doesn't have enough room for both a kitchen island and a dining table. The top and shelves of this piece are made of fir reclaimed from the Four Corners Bank which use to stand a block north of our studio. The building was over one hundred years old when it was torn down. It was built from the old growth trees that stood in false creek and the lumber was milled on Granville Island. After a century this transformed piece of functional art lives only a few blocks from where the trees that it's made from grew. That is what we call furniture with history.
